How Dawn handles your information. Updated October 23, 2026.
- No ads
- No selling data
- No training AI on your work
The short version
We collect what we need to run your workspace: your account, what you and your team put into it, and the photos and video people send you.
We don’t sell it, we don’t run ads, and we don’t use it to train AI models.
Anyone can send a business files through its drop link without an account, and a business only uses what it decides to keep.
1. Who we are
Adamant Group LLC (“Dawn”, “we”, “us”) makes and operates Dawn. This policy covers everything we call the Service:
- the Dawn app for iPhone and Android, and Dawn in a web browser;
- the pages Dawn serves at dawnda.sh: a workspace’s public site, drop pages (
dawnda.sh/drop/…) where anyone can send a business photos and video, and invitation pages (dawnda.sh/join/…); - the emails and notifications we send in connection with them.
Dawn is software that businesses use to run their work: their leads, jobs, crew and customers. When a business adds information about its own customers to Dawn, that business decides what is collected and why; we process it for them. Questions about how a particular business uses your information are best asked of that business.
2. What we collect
Your account
- Account
- Your name, email address and password (stored only as a salted hash). If you sign in with Google or Apple, the identifier and email address they give us.
- Profile
- Optional: a photo, phone number, the trades you know and where you are based. It goes with you to each workspace you join.
What you and your team put into a workspace
- Customers and leads
- Names, phone numbers, email addresses, property addresses and notes a business records about the people it works for.
- Work
- Jobs, quotes, tickets, checklists, expenses, payroll and payout records, messages, and the activity log of who changed what.
- Photos, video and voice
- Captures taken in the app, files sent through drop links, voice notes and the explanations trade experts write or dictate.
- XP and the Village
- XP, levels, goals and posts shared with the workspace’s crew.
- Public site
- What a workspace chooses to publish on its site at dawnda.sh, which is public by design.
People who send files or are invited
- Drop links
- Anyone with a drop link can send files without an account. We keep the files, and the name and project details if the sender types them. A sender who logs in with Dawn on the page earns XP for what they send; their browser then keeps a sign-in cookie for that business’s drop pages for 30 days.
- Invitations
- The name the person inviting you wrote, kept on their own list, and the date the invitation was used.
Payments
Subscriptions and payouts are handled by Stripe. We receive the status and amounts of transactions; we never see or store full card numbers. To pay you out, Stripe may ask for identity and bank details under its own privacy policy, and tells us only whether that is complete.
From your device, with your permission
The app asks for each of these only when you use the feature that needs it, and you can turn any of them off in your device settings.
- Camera and photo library: to take or choose photos and video, and to save what you export.
- Microphone and speech recognition: to record voice notes and video, and to talk to Dawn instead of typing. In the phone app, dictation uses your phone’s own speech service; Dawn receives the text, not the recording of what you dictated. In the browser version, what you say into the mic is recorded in clips of up to 45 seconds and sent through OpenRouter to a speech-to-text provider to be written down; neither we nor the provider keep the recording, and Dawn receives the text.
- Contacts: only the contact you pick, to add them as a lead or invite them. We don’t read or upload your address book.
- Notifications: a push token, so we can tell you about new work, files waiting for you and account changes.
Dawn does not ask for your location. Addresses come from what you type.
Collected automatically
- Device and app details: device model, operating system, app version, language, time zone and IP address.
- Usage: counts of which features are used, stored in our own database, to see what matters and fix what doesn’t. We use no third-party analytics, advertising or ad-attribution SDKs.
- Server logs: request time, address, status and IP, for security and troubleshooting.
3. How we use it
- To provide the Service: keep your account and workspaces, sync them across your devices, receive files through drop links, and run the features you use.
- To process payments and payouts, and keep the records tax and payment rules require.
- To communicate: notifications and email about your work and your account. When a business uses Dawn to message its own customers, we send it on that business’s behalf, with an unsubscribe link and only where the business has the customer’s consent.
- To keep the Service safe: prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents, and keep each workspace’s data inside that workspace.
- To improve the Service, using aggregated or de-identified data wherever we can.
- To meet legal obligations.
Where the law asks for a legal basis (for example in the EU or UK): performance of our contract with you (1–3), our legitimate interest in a safe and useful service (3–5), your consent where we ask for it (device permissions, marketing), and legal obligation (6).
4. Dawn and AI
Some features use AI: Dawn’s answers and daily brief, checking photos sent through drop links before anything is used publicly, helping trade experts explain a business’s photos (only once its owner or admin turns that on), turning photos into promo videos, Dawn’s voice, and, in the browser version, writing down what you say into the mic. When you use one, the content it needs is sent to an AI provider to produce the result. What you should know:
- Our AI providers keep nothing, and nothing trains AI. Every request runs with zero data retention: what is sent is used to produce the result you asked for and is not stored by the provider afterwards, and neither we nor they use your content to train AI models.
- Who the providers are: OpenRouter for answers and drafts, and for writing down what you say in the browser version; ElevenLabs for Dawn’s voice; and muapi for videos.
- Before a photo leaves Dawn for an outside service, we remove its location and camera details.
- AI features run when somebody uses them. Opening the app doesn’t send your workspace to a model.
- AI can be wrong. Check what it tells you before you rely on it.
6. Where it lives and how it’s protected
Dawn is operated from the United States, and its databases and files are stored there. If you use Dawn from elsewhere, your information is transferred to the US.
Information is encrypted in transit; passwords are stored only as salted hashes; every request to read or change a workspace is checked against who is asking and their role in it. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will tell you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
7. How long we keep it, and deleting it
We keep your information while your account is active.
- Your account
- To delete your account, open the app and go to Profile, then Delete account. Your account, sign-in, profile and your own notifications and XP are deleted straight away, along with any workspace where you are the only staff member and everything in it. Workspaces you share stay with the business. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke Dawn’s access with Apple. If you can’t open the app, email [email protected] from the address on your account and we delete it within 30 days.
- Workspace data
- Belongs to the workspace and stays with it when one member leaves. When a workspace is deleted, its data is deleted with it; copies in backups roll off within 30 days.
- Files sent through drop links
- A file the business discards is deleted. A file it keeps stays in its library until the business deletes it.
- Drop page sign-in
- The browser cookie lasts 30 days, and ends sooner if you log out or leave the workspace.
- Transaction records
- Kept for up to 7 years, as tax and payment rules require.
- Server logs
- Kept for a limited time for security and troubleshooting, then deleted.
8. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask to access or get a copy of your information, correct it, delete it, and object to or restrict some uses of it, and you can withdraw consent by turning off a device permission or unsubscribing. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
California residents: we don’t sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. You have the rights to know, delete and correct, and not to be discriminated against for using them.
EU, EEA, UK and Swiss residents: you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. Adamant Group LLC is the controller for account information; for the information a business keeps about its own customers, the business is the controller and we process it on its behalf.
Email [email protected] to use any of these rights. We answer within 30 days and don’t charge for a reasonable request.
9. Children
Dawn is a tool for working businesses and is not directed to children under 13 (or the older age your country sets for consenting to online services). We don’t knowingly collect information from them; if you believe a child has an account, email us and we will delete it.
10. Cookies
Dawn’s public pages set no tracking or advertising cookies. A drop page you log in to keeps one sign-in cookie, readable only by that business’s drop pages; the app and Dawn on the web keep a sign-in token so you stay signed in.
11. Changes to this policy
We update this policy as Dawn changes. For significant changes we tell you in the app or by email before they take effect; otherwise the new policy applies once it is posted here, and the date at the top says when it last changed.
12. Contact
Questions, requests or complaints about privacy: [email protected].
